anyone but ashley williams

higuain seems to be a done deal, but all these MFs and CBs rumored haven't shown any signs of being remotely correct. i'd certainly prefer the Illarramendi rumors be correct if any are

Definitely. I love the comparisons of him to Arteta and Xabi, sounds like a great idea to replace Arteta as he gets older.

We take a look at the best passing XI during the Premier League 2012/13 season, based on the players to have completed the most passes per game, using WhoScored statistics.

Hey FOBUD, have you looked into joining Arsenal America? It's $30 for a membership annually, and they get a variant allotment of tickets to distribute to members for every home game. If I remember correctly that you are going to the NLD, I hear it's extremely hard to find tickets, not surprisingly. You may want to consider signing up.

i was actually thinking about joining this, even though the likely hood that i would be able to attend a game in the next year is slim to none.

sadly no. have thought about the club membership just for the access and the thought that my small amount of dollars are going to the club would be nice.

this is the membership that allows you access to tickets right? have thought about it just in case somehow i found myself in or near London in the future and had an opportunity to go to the Emirates. small chance i get stationed in europe in the near future.

edit: didnt see the america part haha, thought this was the regular arsenal club membership offered through their website.

Got you man. I was wrong, it was actually $25, and for future reference, you can just pay dues if you think you are going to want a ticket within the next month or two. What you may be thinking of is the red level membership, which seems almost like a lottery to me.

As for the American club, trying to determine what my chances are for the Villa match without bothering the dude who runs their email account too much.

yeah, you and StraightCash could be bros in Germany and watch FCK games.

(previous post was unclear...you only need to buy a membership a month or so in advance of the actual match when requesting tickets)

I am interested in seeing the Villa match and was wondering how many requests you guys have gotten about the first game. Trying to make sure I can get to go before I start paying for it. Also, am I required to become a Red Level Member with the actual club in order to get a ticket? Thanks.

We have not begun taking ticket requests yet. As soon as we do, we will post on the web site and on FB/Twitter. Thanks for your note.

One more question-- first come first serve?

Yes. We get the requests and put them in order from time of receipt. Then make the request to the club.

They didn't answer that part, but I'm assuming that they, as the middle man, would take care of that. But just in case that doesn't work out, here's something a native Londoner and ardent Gunner sent me (friend of a sibling):

quote:

In terms of watching the game, I think you should be able to get a ticket. If not, however, I would recommend the 12 Pins next to Finsbury Park Tube station. It doesn't look like much but it's always packed for Arsenal games and has a pretty good atmosphere. If it's a nice day you can also retire afterwards to the Faltering Fullback, a few minutes walk away, which has the best pub garden in North London.

Correct. You need to come down for the opening day. Get Wario to come as well.

I might make another appearance for opening day. You know, since I hate white people and all.

Red level membership says there's priority access to 3500 tickets...its more, but it seems like the same ticket access and some more membership benefits. I'll email Arsenal dot com and figure out for sure.

I'm a red level member. They release 3,500 tickets for each game one month prior to the respective game. It's first come first serve... They release them at 10 am London time one month before each game, so if you know what game you want, wake up early and try to get one. I did it last year for the Everton game and had no problems getting a ticket... But then the game got postponed for the FA Cup and I was no longer in London for the game, so I gave it to a friend.

They also give you other goodies, like an Arsenal scarf, headphones, season program, full access to Arsenal Player. I've enjoyed it even though I missed out on the game last year. I'll get to another one soon.
