We aren't going to sell Giroud. He has 20 goals and many assists. Walcott, Ramsey and Ozil's injuries have hurt the way we have to play. We have zero pace except for Ox and when Poldi wants to run.

Arsenal will finish top 4 and we will win the FA Cup. Before the season started would we have all taken that and said.. "frick yes". Since 2008 we have been predicted to be out of the top 4 and yet we survive. This summer will be huge and I can't fricking wait.

I don't mind Giroud leading the line if we actually have two players who would run beyond him. It's weird to say but we could have used Gervinho this season. He would have been very useful.

I've realized that as well. It's disappointing, really. He was shite for us (or at least never lived up to expectations and had terrible touch at times) but now we need speed options wide and we don't really have that. He was good for depth, for sure.

I'd much prefer a more mobile striker regardless, personally. Especially since it'll be difficult to unseat santi or özil in our XI.

also, özil is probably back this weekend

I completely agree on poldi, but you guys like to dog him, giroud and arteta when in reality that's all we've had. Its not their fault we didn't get help in January

Yes. I'm only guilty of this with Giroud. He pisses me off sometimes, probably b/c he's so dramatic and misses some real sitters. But he's great at what he does.

YES. Giroud would be deadly with Theo and Mesut. How many did those three plus Ramsey play together.

I wonder how much more effective Giroud is when Ramsey plays. Ramsey makes his runs from deep and puts pressure on the backline. Remember, Giroud set up the third goal with the ball into Ramsey's head. I bet his return is much better when Rambo plays.

I can agree Giroud can do better, but he has time to raise his tally, nd after 2 seasons he prob won't look to far off in his assist and goals to other strikers their first 2 seasons at the club. But we don't have to break the bank on a striker unless we can for sure get a top notch one, which will be hard. And I'm sure we will be linked with just about any striker this summer.

I still think Theo can play down the center, and well, when we need the change of pace. I don't remember which game it was, may have been Tottenham 2-0 when he got hurt, but he was scary down the center with Mesut behind him.

Still think we need another option, though. Drmic may be an option. Would love a big name world class guy, just don't see him out there.

i think we need a more mobile no. 1 striker, at least with where i want to see this team go. theo helps our issues some, but even with him, having to defend limits some of the space available. we need to get drmic, costa, etc this summer. even Mandzukic would be an upgrade. hard to be a top team without a very good, mobile striker putting pressure on defenses.

I agree. Giroud would be a great backup/situational starter. I'd feel very comfortable with him starting a big match if our top striker was down. I just don't want him bearing the burden all year.

I would love to see what we could do if we could just keep Theo, Jack, and Aaron relatively healthy for a whole season, much less Ozil.

I wish poldi could play striker, but he's not suited in the 4-5-1 to be the lone guy. Drmic would be good, and hopefully someone else. Then splurge on upgrading the midfield and defense.

We need a space creator. We don't need a particularly fast player, but someone who has excellent movement. The only players who never seem to ask for the ball to their feet are the fullbacks, which is ridiculous.

This summer we need to buy a DM, a CB, a RB, a winger and a striker. We need to buy mobility.

RB,

Do you like the young Ivorian who plays for Toulouse? He reminds me of a young Evra, just on the opposite side opposite side of the pitch.

Yeah, Aurier? I've liked what I've seen. Wouldn't mind buying him, re-signing Sanga and loaning out Jenkinson.

He reminds me a lot of Evra. 5'9" and compact with pace and really good jumping ability. Rarely beaten by taller players in the air.

6 goals and 6 assists is great production. And I think loaning out Jenko is a great idea.

I watched Aurier play against PSG a few months ago and he looked like the best player on the pitch for a good portion of the game, should have scored too. I really hope he's purchased because I don't think Jenks is the long term solution.

Matt Spiro, a Ligue 1 journo, says Wenger met with Kos' agent about an extension yesterday and also inquired about his other client, Serge Aurier (moar serges!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

no word from him on Sagna's contract though. sky italia might have jumped the gun (shocker).

the guy says aurier has played on the right side of a 3 man back line and can be a versatile RB/CB.

I've watched the Fiorentina right back a couple of games and I wouldn't mind him.
