Yup we are Barca's feeder club. No doubt about it.

Anyone know what the collective money we spent acquiring those 6 players was? Probably around 40m

Purchase Price / Sell Price

Overmars - 5.5 mil / 25 mil

Petit - 2.5 mil / 7 mil

VanBronckhorst - not sure / nominal

Henry - 11mil / 18+ mil

Fabregas - initially free, I believe but I think we had to pay somewhere less than a mil for him / 23mil + bonuses

Song - ~1mil / 15mil

Definitely less than 40mil combined.

I've figured out why the soccer board has so many Arsenal supporters guys.

He was signed so young, perhaps it was his first professional contract? In which case he can sign with whoever, and Arsenal just pays a fairly nominal fee to Barca.

We poached him from Barca's academy before he signed professional terms. Eventually I think we were forced to pay damages to Barça.

I'm just wondering how we recognized his talent and got him to sign with us instead of Barca.

Barça was stacked with talent. His road to the first team there was blocked. guess we sold him on early PT. The Arsenal bias story is that FCB didn't believe in him, but i doubt that. Dandy could probably tell us their story and the truth would be somewhere in between.

I never really despised Ade. I think Arsene was actively looking to sell him after his huge season. Was clearly way overvalued. And a Dick.

I'll never really understand why fans attack players on Twitter like that. You even see it from LSU fans after a loss. Sickening to me.

plus one

I'd go so far as to assert the same concerning van Persie (last year was a great year, the year before was simply solid, and up until two years ago, he was merely promising). He's got to overcome the injury bug, and he's also no spring chicken. I think Wenger has done well here, and time will bear this out.

Yea we have had some bad breakups with players over the last few years. Adebawhore, the French lesbian known as Nasri, Cashley, and of Robin Van Traitor. We have been know to hold grudges too.

I don't think any rational football fan can argue against this. I think it was good business too. Sucks that he was sold domestically though.
