Sure why not? Not a true rival due to lack of history, etc.

A host of Premier League clubs are interested in Leeds youngster Sam Byram, who has earned rave reviews for his performances in the Championship this season. The 19-year-old right-back has caught the eye of Arsenal and Manchester City in recent months.

According to sources, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been watching the youngster all season and is readying a bid to bring him to the Emirates. With Bacary Sagna’s future still up in the air, having yet to agree a contract extension, the North Londoners are looking for defensive reinforcements.

Manchester City too have expressed an interest in Essex-born Byram, who impressed their Italian manager Roberto Mancini when the two teams faced off in the FA Cup Fifth Round in February. City won that game 4-0.

but seriously, we have supposedly slapped an 8 mil price tag on him. would hate to see him go but that much for a kid no one knew existed this time a yera ago would be pretty fricking sweet, especially with ken bates no longer able to get his mits on any of the cash.

the most recent rumor said baccy might actually re-sign with us, but who knows. would really shock me if we went into next season with two very unexperienced RBs.

So I know there have been rumors of us targeting a keeper this summer... how would y'all feel if we grabbed Guzan?

(mostly saying this as he might be the only USMNT player I think is worth a starting spot on Arsenal aside from Timmy of course who is older and already on a top team)

our GK situation is interesting. Szczesny has looked like the talent we all thought he was recently and is still not near his peak. we've also got two really talented GKs in our reserves in Martinez and Iliev. if we can get a stud like Adler, I'd be for that even if it signals the end of Szczesny's reign as no 1. if the staff believes in him as the long-term no 1 though, I'm not sure what happens because that will eliminate a lot of options who would like a better chance to play week in and week out. I would tend to think Guzan would want more guaranteed time than he would get from us. he's a good gk. wouldn't be disappointed if he joined us, though seems unlikely.

Well yeah I mean if we signed him as our first team keeper, I just really don't like how young/inexperienced all of our keepers are honestly.

Our GK situation is fricked. Fabianski is great at distribution, but is so mentally fragile that one mistake will turn him into the second coming of Almunia. Szcznesy is an absolute retard when it comes to distribution, but is an excellent shot stopper and commands his area well. I'd rather stick with Szcznesy and not spend money on a keeper. In truth, the keeper play hasn't been as bad as it was when we had Almunia. The problems with the keepers have sorted themselves out once we dropped TV5.

On a another note, can anyone actually believe Almunia was our keeper? frick.

no. I can't. for multiple years too.

we'll have to buy a GK this summer. fabianski is out of contract and no way mannone is our no 2. Will be interesting if we try to bring in a more experienced stud or a solid backup type.

I think being so young it went to his head. Benching him helped. I mean he saved us 3 points over the weekend but also cost us early on in the season.

the second best thing about this deal, the first being heaps of cash, is hearing English pundits with affected annunciation pronoune it "Pyoo-ma"
