Anybody else think the FIFA rankings suck?

They had us at #4 a while back. Imagine us actually being as good as The Netherlands.

Who do you think will eliminate England on penalties this year, engvol? I bet Germany is hoping to get second in their group so they can do it in the round of 16.

I think we go out in the semis to Brazil, but i'lll be drunk on holiday so wont care.

We wont face Germany as we will both win our groups...but you can have fun losing to them in the last 16

realistically we're losing in the round of 16. Sucks to be realistic.

They're not power-rankings as such, they're actually based on this intricate points system to do with how teams have performed in previous tournaments and what area the teams they beat play in.

ESPN.com releases their Soccer Power Index (SPI) every month or so, and it has a better formula than the FIFA rankings. It takes in consideration things like quality of opponent, whether the squad is at full strength, and the value of the competition.
