And out of nowhere there are rumors sprouting up about City and Kostas Manolas.
€35 mil release clause.

Only Liverpool rumors I’ve seen are for Pepe and that he’s deciding between us and Bayern. You’d think the instant starting at Bayern would be more enticing but who knows, we could do a 4-2-3-1 with Salah up top

Boca Juniors say they are still hopeful of signing former Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi, despite Los Angeles FC reportedly winning the race.
ESPN claimed on Tuesday that De Rossi had accepted an offer to join the MLS side, but Boca sporting director but Nicolas Burdisso remains confident his ex-Roma teammate will join him in Argentina.

When it came down to brass tacks I got the feeling that De Ligt was going to whomever would pay him the most. He’ll be there for 3 years and then move on to Barça. Can’t fault him or anyone else in professional sports to get the money while they can, but it’s a lateral move at best regarding his development.
Great business for City if they can get Manolas at that price but not sure how well he fits Pep’s system. I want Pepe at Liverpool but not if it means we’re pigeon holing him into a 4-2-3-1 setup. I’d prefer him filling in to give any of the front 3 a break.

Think it has more to do with his agent than anything

They're paying a 20% commission, that's why.

I really wanted Pepe to replace Hazard, but that's not happening with us not asking for a freeze of the ban in our appeal.

Curious what that means for their CB pecking order.
They have their captain there and their vice-captain played there before having to move to DM because of zero depth. Kimpembe paired with Silva, while Marquinhos played wherever he was needed.
De Ligt knocks out an integral player in any way if he actually moves there.

James to United is done officially

I agree for the most part. Some reports are saying they want to sell Kimpembe but I'm not sure I believe that. They can keep him and Kehrer as rotational CBs with Marquinhos at CDM.
This screams making a move to try and rest or settle the fanbase but until they fix their midfield they're not getting any better. I would've tried buying SMS or someone of the likes with that De Ligt money.
