As far as the WC goes, 99% yes. You don't see many 35 year olds in the WC. He will still probably play for the USMNT for the next 3 years or so.

He's done. He will the Gold Cup, but we should drop him soon. I don't see how he could still be starting come Copa America.
Also it would be nice to have someone that can be a complete player pick up in that CAM or Second Striker role.
ETA My prediction:
--------------Guzan
-------Brooks---------Gonzo
Packwood------------------Fab J
------------Mix----Bradley
Bedoya--------Bacon-------Green
-------------Altidore
There is always 3-4 young players, that seem like locks, that just don't pan out for some reason. I think (and hope I'm wrong) between Yedlin and Green, one of them isn't going to make it. With Yedlin going to Spurs I think his stock will drop significantly.

No Cameron?
Also, Mix should be where Johannsson is on your lineup. I am guessing Wil Trapp plays alongside Bradley.

He can play in the traditional CM role. Johannson would play up as a second striker with Mix going forward and Bradley holding. It would really be more of a diamond, but the way I put it would be where they would drop back and Green and Bedoya being more advanced.

Yea, I forgot him, but still sticking with this line up. To tell you the truth only Bradley, Guzan, and Fabian are the for sure starters in my book.

Funk, Packwood is a CB, not a RB.
If I had to take a guess right now, here is what I would say:
Guzan
Yedlin-Cameron-Brooks-Chandler
Hyndman-Bradley-Diskerud
Johnson-Altidore-Green
I'm stuck between putting Hyndman or Williams in that midfield 3. Again, this a shot in the dark but if I had to pick RIGHT NOW, this would be my gut. Who knows who comes out of nowhere and impresses between now and then. I would say Rubin is my darkhorse candidate to start.

No way this happens in a million years, but frick it...
Not throwing out Howard yet.

Also, why are so many people here so quick to throw out Besler?
Howard/Guzan
Cameron-Brooks-Besler-Johnson
Trapp-Bradley
Yedlin-Diskerud-Green
Altidore
I feel like I could get half of these rights. Geoff Cameron needs to deal with it and play on the back line for the USMNT. I want Fabian back there because the others cannot defend yet. Also, my darkhorse pick would be for Chris Klute to start at LB.

Howard's done. No way he plays for us in 2018.

Based on...?

He's retiring in 2018 after his Everton contract runs out. I expect him to retire from international matches before then.

Why?
He's said multiple times that he's thinking about 2018.

I still think Guzan beats out Howard. It wouldn't surprise me if Howard made the plane though.
I think Fabian plays on the right for us, and I think Yedlin's future is at RB. He can be a CL quality RB if he keeps progressing like he is, but at RW he doesn't have the requisite touch to be an elite winger, and I think that developmental window is quickly closing.
Geoff will probably play centrally in the back for us unless we have a RB crisis.

Like I said, my formation will never happen, I just think with the personnel I've chosen here, a 3-5-2 would be ideal. The way I see it, Jurgen is implementing a proactive attacking style where our fullbacks are pushing well up in the attack. Hell, we saw that against the Czech with the runs that Chandler and Fab made.
Only problem was that there were times that they were so far up that they left things open for a potential counter. With this formation you have 3 centerbacks stationed in the back with Fab and Yedlin being wingbacks that can help out on D but also push up in the attack.
If what we saw in Brazil is any indication, the 3-man backline is experiencing a renaissance.

Couldn't agree more.
