What bullshite? Annoying the hell out of the opposition? He doesn't really have the rep of a diver either. He'll be no worse than Drogba was.

Also, Chelsea shouldn't be forced into anything. If they sell Lukaku, it's because they don't see something in him, and won't have anything to do with Costa.

Costa will be a good centerpiece to build an attack. His movement is good, he can play by himself or with a partner, he can run beyond the CB's or as a targetman, and has developed good goalscoring instincts. There isn't a negative to this transfer as far as I can see.

I'm sure Hazard would much rather play with his fellow countrymen who scores goals everywhere he goes.

Oh, and isn't a complete c**t.

Drogba was a notorious count to the opposition. If he played for my team I would have loved him. There are plenty of players who are very good but are count on the field. The most I've been annoyed watching a game as a neutral was the Barcelona-Chelsea game where Drogba faked an injury every time he went down. He stayed on the ground for a total of nine minutes that game. That is magnificently cultish behavior. Still he was the difference in the game because he was able to bully Barca's defense.

I honestly see Costa like Drogba. They have very similar career paths, both being very physical players who were late bloomers. Costa is a little more mobile and not quite as physical, but he will be an excellent lynchpin for an attack that has trouble breaking down teams that put ten behind the ball.

pique caught "off the record" telling del bosque that cesc was a done deal (presumably to chelsea) for 33m euros. seems like he's being serious. kinda hard to tell. anyways, twitter's going nuts with it!

unless Mourinho ends up ditching him, a la Mata, Chelsea will win the BPL by adding Cesc and Costa.

eta: a bit more info, 33m euros matching the figure in pounds that Arsenal folk have been saying our buyback clause for Cesc is, so they're speculating rampantly.

Tottenham have allegedly offered Sevilla £15M plus Soldado on loan and Capoue's rights (retaining 50% if sold).

What in the actual frick. Liverpool could screw up buying a snickers bar.

there's been so much speculation about what that damn contract says, no one really knows. the arsenal side have said we have a 25m pound buyback option or a right of first refusal, based on whichever source you want to believe. if we turn it down and he goes elsewhere, supposedly we get a cut (half maybe?) of the sale proceeds.

not sure if we want him or not (rumors say we don't, but then again who knows who is leaking those). can never have too many great players in my book, but it isn't the cleanest fit.

It would be crazy to not take advantage of that and bring him back. Can never have too many midfielders. Better to have depth than just bitch about injuries

*especially* us i for one would love to play him with theo, ozil and a new striker. if it were for an obscene price that'd be one thing, but santi is no spring chicken (and not as good, though more fun).

balague reported that we had no buyout clause, then backtracked a day later saying we did but it basically did nothing. don't know who to believe

[quote]If this forces us to sell Lukaku[/quote

If you do it will be another example of Chelsea owning FFP.

Lukaku and De Bruyne would have played about 4 games for Chelsea and will probably have earnt them £20+million in profit.

Barça supposedly has Rakitic ´tied up´ (I guess they´re not going to pay €60M for Koke, who by the way, probably wouldn´t go anyway).

Because you either went to Tennessee, or are a UT fan, you should spell in American English on this board (I know that´s what he´s thinking/meaning). Don´t worry, I get it too (used to, I make a conscious effort now).

Do English (UK) people really use this? I have never seen it typed earnt, only earned. After brief research, I see that it is really uncommon to use earnt. I know people pronounce it that way, but I figured that's because they were hilljacks from eastern KY.

To be fair, I´ve heard both. It typically depends upon the ´level´ of the speaker.

Are we trying to "own" FFP or win trophies for years to come?

Lukaku is a 21 year old beast who scores goals every where he goes and has physical tools 99% of other strikers can only dream about.

We are going to throw that away for a guy 5 years older who has had a less productive career? Brilliant.
