So strange. I would assume LFC wrote the contract, so I would assume they know what it says.

you'd be surprised at the ineptitude of people when drafting contracts. BPG can back me up on this 
I am really confused though. never seen this much contention over a transfer provision. would love to see the contract. it will be a lesson to both sides for the future.

No I certainly believe that. I just can't see why/how LFC would struggle to write a pretty normal contract. I've got to imagine they have several professionals writing up the contracts.

when there's specialized buyout options, sell-on clauses, etc, something where it isn't the standard form, it can get hairy.
for that clause to be interpreted as many ways as it has been really piques my interest. Liverpool's interpretation makes the clause useless. that's always been curious to me.

Well obviously that is for their own benefit. Pere Guardiola wouldn't have told us to bid the amount that we did if not for a reason. I could see this getting really ...lawyer-iey if the two sides differ on the interpretation of the clause.
