20 Minutos, a glorified subway rag, says
Özil to Arsenal, official, €45M is the figure.
and
Kaká has signed with AC Milán.

transfer deadline fever my lad. All the Ozil rumors + winning the NLD have me all amped up.

Dos you even read the sources? Not saying it won't happen, but don't link @agent012's twitter

76% of those who have read the supposed Özil to Arsenal deal done article of 20 Minutos, have replied to the online poll, saying he shouldn´t be sold.

Not really no, as I said it was a compilation of tweets. And in the comments after reading it they mention that only two of the sources are somewhat reliable which is still fine by me.

Now that would be spending just to spend - the transfer wouldn't make a lot of sense to me personally. Seems like Arsene is just trying to get the fans off his back

€45M
Seems a good price (it´ll fund a Falcao deal).

Not necessarily..
-----Giroud-----
Santi--Ozil--Theo
---Arteta-Ramsey-
Rosicky as a super sub and Wilshere in rotation with Arteta/Ramsey

Playing Santi centrally and buying a proper winger would probably be more beneficial..

If only Tottenham had money left (they could REALLY use Mesut Özil).

Probably so, but I think the combination of opportunity and timing for a player of his quality is too good to pass up.
I'd still love a proper backup striker and a proper left winger but after this summer I'm not really prepared to complain.

Long term it makes a ton of sense. A 24 year old AM who essentially replaces a 32 year old AM in Rosicky. I guess Wenger feels Sanogo and Walcott is enough cover at striker, Flamini enough cover at DM and the fullback positions, and Sagna enough cover at CB. This would be the most amazing transfer business Wenger has ever done.

Eh, we are much more prone to defensive lapses when we play with two direct wide players. Wenger has played with an inverted winger on the left side for as long as I can remember. I'm guessing Wenger is sticking with Miyachi and Gnabry as our back up wing options too.

I still hope we pick up someone like Damiao as a second striker though. Also either a RB or a CB cover wouldn't be bad.
ETA: not that I have seen anything linking us to him (lots of LFC chatter for him) just pointing out him as an example.

I'm guessing its Sanogo and no one else. Sanogo looks a promising prospect though. If we can have some injury luck I like the way this team is looking.

I was just about to take a mid-afternoon nap as well. I might have similar dreams to Glass now with Ozil in an Arsenal jersey
My nap worked...

Sounds like someone is afraid of us getting Mesut... just kidding I see your point. But take today's game for instance, our bench was abysmal. Thank goodness we got the early goal so we could make defensive subs but if had needed to go for the win there was no one to turn to. Ramsey has already played 90 min in all 5 matches, Rosicky and jack are injury prone, Rosicky and arteta are 32 years old. Also flamini looked really solid as a defensive minded midfielder and with Vern coming back and sagna able to slide in at CB in pinch I think we're fairly set there as well
Plus it's fricking Mesut Ozil. A top 15 player in the world coming to us in his prime. It's a message of intent. Not to mention all of the sudden we look like the destination of choice for German players coming to the PL
