Javi's parents met with Bilbao's president to ask him to sell Javi to Bayern.

What a proud club Bilbao is

I just don't see how Javi could realistically ever play well for Bilbao again. I understand having principles but you should also have some dignity.

Jupp quitting come seasons end

Wasn't sure if you guys had heard about this yet. I had suspected but had not heard an official statement from Jupp yet.

So who's the future? The article makes mention of Pep...

Rumors that the acquisition of Javi Martinez, nicknamed the Spanish Kaiser, was part of a move to entice Pep Guardiola.

Also, some very high praise from del Bosque:
quote:

The seasoned coach is a huge Martinez fan: "As a footballer, it's fair to compare him with former world-class star Patrick Vieira. He’s a born leader and a complete player. I can only congratulate Bayern." Del Bosque has welcomed the player's decision to leave Athletic Bilbao for Munich. “It's always proved helpful when our players have experience of major overseas clubs," the Spain boss said, “it shapes them and brings them on."

And this bit:

quote:

Javi is an intriguing character away from the field too. He has modelled underwear, and also owns a restaurant in his hometown of Ayegui. His partner, Spanish model Maria Imizcoz, is his greatest supporter both professionally and privately. All in all, Bayern have surely acquired a fascinating personality and true star in the making.

At first I wasn't too sure about Pep, but I think I really want him to come to Bayern now.

Darkhorse is probably Mehmet Scholl for me. Great player and he's worked his way up the Bayern coaching ranks.

I bet he'd want the chance to coach Bayern. He's got FC Bayern II playing pretty well so far so we'll see. Pep is definitely at the top of the list though.
