You better hope TR can do it because I am not sold on AJ. He has no experience in a big game against this kind of defense. And, although he had a couple of long completions last game, I don't believe that he throws the long ball as well as McElroy did his first year.

For some reason, LSU has always rushed better against Bama in the past couple of years than they normally do in the rest of the year. I believe it is because the LSU talent is that much more prepared & pumped for the game.

I believe that this will be a low scoring game with the winning team almost playing a perfect game in all phases.

I agree, AJ hasn't proved anything against a D like he'll see Saturday. Y'alls DL is unproven against a powerful running team and vice versa for AJ so we'll see who will step up.

When all is said and done, this game will be won in the 4th on a big ST play IMO.

Since this is the Stats thread....

Nick Saban after bye week since 2000.

2000
W (beat AL 30-28) BR home
L (Ark best LSU 14-3) Arkansas away

2001
L (Tenn beat LSU 26-18) Knoxville away
W (beat Ark 41-38) BR home

2002
W (beat Miss State 31-13) BR home
W (beat UK 33-30) Lex away

2003
L (Florida beat LSU 19-7) BR home
W (beat AL 27-3) Tus away

2004
W (beat Troy 24-20) BR home
W (beat AL 26-10) BR home

2007
L (LSU beat AL 41-34) Tus home

2008
W (beat Mississippi 24-20) Tus home
W (beat AU 36-0) Tus home

2009
W (beat LSU 24-15) Tus home

2010
L (LSU beat AL 24-21) BR away

In all, Coach Saban is 10-5 in games after a bye week since 2000.

During that time, he had 2 home losses (UF in 2003 and LSU in 2007); and 3 away losses (Ark, UT, and LSU).

Out of his 10 wins, 8 were at home and 2 were away.

How many top 25 teams has each team played?
Currently in the BCS Top 25
Alabama:
10 Arkansas
19 Penn St.
LSU:
7 Oregon
23 Auburn
25 West Virginia

The "experts" point out the teams that were ranked at the time the games were played, for the obvious reason that the loss handed to them contributed to the drop in rankings. On that score 'Bama's total is pushed to three with the addition of Florida and LSU's is five with the Gators and Maroons.

So the 2 teams' rankings that Bama played averages to about 14.5; and the 3 teams for LSU averages about 18.3.

Bama's is higher.

pulled from another thread:

Well I don't know, maybe it's the fact that we have shut down every running game we have played against, and Ware/Ford don't intimidate us as much as LSU fans would like. Our defense is built to stop the run, so why would we not think that we can stop you as well?
Ok, I'll bite:
You guys haven't faced a team in the top 30 in rushing yet. The one team you faced in the top 50 (Penn St) rushed for 107 on you. I'm not saying that it's not going to be tough running on you, but you have not faced a team that runs better than LSU. Here's to a good game Saturday
and because you like stats Bama's Rushing offenses faced:
Kent St-117
Penn St-36
North Texas-79
Arkansas-87
Florida-68
Vandy-52
Tennessee-118
Ole Miss-95

Edit:by the way LSU is in the top 30 in rushing

What does that have to do with the post?
I was answering his response, which in fact had nothing to do with lsu's rush defense. Settle down Nancy, no ones pissing on Alabama's STATS
