How come no one appreciates a good defensive game anymore?

Seriously, Bama and LSU's offenses would put 30+ on either Stanford or Okla St. I think either would probably put up over 40 on either team. Yet because each offense faced two of the best defenses in the history of college football and the offenses played it close to the vest it is considered it an ugly game and they were not really talking about the missed FGs. These defenses were incredible and I think you will see how incredible they are in the next 4-5 years when you see how many players in this game will be playing on Sundays. I think this was a defensive classic.

Same reason people don't like a 2-1 pitchers duel. Frankly, that was a great football game to watch .....if you had no dog in the fight.

It was a great defensive battle.

But I feel bama shot itself in the foot on offense repeatedly with dumb shite penalties. I mean how do you take a substitution infraction in ot.

It wasn't boring. But I am sure all those PAC12 fans are scratching their heads. Just remember both teams have beaten every other team by double digits.

It will be a game talked about for decades like 1946 Army v Notre Dame(0-0), 1965 Notre Dame v Mich St.(10-10), 1969 Texas v Arkansas(15-14), 1987 Miami vs. Penn State(10-14) and 1991 Florida State vs. Miami(16-17).

Madden video games and the outlawing of defense in the NFL have lead people to think that if a combined 50 points isn't scored, the game sucked.
