I still think Lee had to have been suspended or ineligible or something.

Weren't there some rumblings about him not going to class?

Miles may be goofy, but the man isn't stupid. I have to believe there is a real reason other than loyalty or stubbornness in keeping JJ in.

That or he has naked pictures of Miles with a farm animal.

Ha! I agree, there has to be something else going on behind the scenes...at least I hope so and that this is Miles protecting Lee by taking the burden for himself by not playing him rather than he's just abandoning him because he blindly favors JJ.

Bama's pass rush was lights out. With Lee's relative lack of mobility and Mett's status as the future, an injury to Lee would have been horrible and an injury to Mett would have been catastrophic.

Problem with that is... Lee only took 4 sacks in all 11 games he played in.. JJ took 14 in the 5 or so he played in because he has ZERO pocket presence.

Miles benefits from being able to cherry pick the best talent in La and south Texas. I thought he would have opened up things with reverses, flee flicker or something that would have produced some momentum.

I thought our defense played outstanding, not allowing a TD until the game was clearly in hand by Bama

I thought Bama was close to breaking their back when Lacy ran for about 10 yards back to back, but they continued to step up. I still wasn't breathing a sigh of relief until around the 6 or 7 minute mark left in the game.

I totally don't understand not putting Lee in the game, to try to get a spark or something. On the flip side, Bama was dominating the line and there were very few times a receiver was open. I don't think it would have mattered, with the way Bama's defense was playing.

Listened to McElwain on the postgame and he talked about some of their gameplanning. Number one was back to fundamentals, focus on technique and the other thing, was, he felt Mathieu was a great player, dynamic and attacked the ball well, but he was small and not that good in coverage, and is why they put big receivers on him. Turned out to be a great move.
