I assume you are listing Louisiana guys???

LA passed riverboat gambling a year or two before MS in the 90's and MS had boats up ad running several years prior to LA ( I remember driving from BR to Biloxi) . The issue IMHO was the required kickbacks in LA. Probably the same issue with Sports Book now.

JBE was gonna have his minions scuttle that shite regardless last year. He had a narrative. It was that we were broke. He didn’t want alternative revenue sources that didn’t include taxes. Hell he had LDH look the other way while they improperly and/or fraudulently overpaid $80 million to Medicaid recipients that didn’t deserve it.

He wanted the State spending every dime it had to look as broke as possible with no potential income streams to fix it.

Why? Because he had taxes to raise. Which he finally got.

Only now that he got his way will he consider this. He timed it beautifully.
