San Francisco board rebrands 'convicted felon' as 'justice-involved person,' sanitizes other crime lingo

The local officials say the new language will help change people’s views about those who commit crimes.
quote:
from now on a convicted felon or an offender released from custody will be known as a “formerly incarcerated person,” or a “justice-involved” person or just a “returning resident.”
A juvenile “delinquent” will now be called a “young person with justice system involvement,” or a “young person impacted by the juvenile justice system.”
And drug addicts or substance abusers, meanwhile, will become “a person with a history of substance use.”
Well ain't that special.
For all of us white supremacists, can we be known as "citizens with former Casper syndrome"?

Control the language.
Control the masses.
Control the masses.

"A rose by any other name" -- or, a skunk by any other name. Neither change the smell, they are still what they are.

Lipstick on a pig. What a waste of time.

Lefties gonna Newspeak. These compound terms are too long and will eventually become acronyms.
Let's try one:
“formerly incarcerated person” = “FormErLy incarcerated persON,”

California just needs to secede from the Union.

This might be part of the problem, along with making your city a sanctuary....
quote:
San Francisco is the nation’s leader in property crime. Burglary, larceny, shoplifting, and vandalism are included under this ugly umbrella. The rate of car break-ins is particularly striking: in 2017 over 30,000 reports were filed, and the current average is 51 per day. Other low-level offenses, including drug dealing, street harassment, encampments, indecent exposure, public intoxication, simple assault, and disorderly conduct are also rampant.
Many in law enforcement blame the crime wave on Proposition 47, which in 2014 downgraded possession of illegal narcotics for personal use and theft of anything under $950 in value from felonies to misdemeanors.

The progressive left has a knack for fixing everything but the actual problem. This is yet another example.

As the cheesy man in the Rispone tv ads says," Boom, there it is!"

Nineteen Eighty-Four also popularised the adjective Orwellian, which connotes things such as official deception, secret surveillance, brazenly misleading terminology, and manipulation of recorded history
official deception - check
secret surveillance - check
brazenly misleading terminology - check
manipulation of recorded history - and check

No it won’t.

Somebody got paid to do that.??

Ever notice when liberals "rebrand" something, they use the almost complete antonym?
"Criminal / felon" is replaced with "Justice involved". You'd think that term was meant for a police officer or a judge!

Gee, if only someone could have warned them about the likely outcomes of these actions....
...oh, snap.
Arguments For/Against Prop 47
Elected officials who makes decisions based solely on "feelgoodism" are gonna be the death of us all.
