Would any “Democratic socialist” supporter be against pure socialism?

I was seeing over the weekend that Mamdani supporters are angry that “Democratic Socialism” is being lumped in with pure socialism. Question: would any of these people be against state controlled systems? They wouldn’t. It’s another example of using contrived language to hide your intentions.

There’s zero difference. It’s just branding.
