Because it appears Crowdstrike's investigation and therefore conclusions are highly flawed.
The CrowdStrike reports on this that have been made public are very limited. From what I understand they have released all of the info that they were authorized to release by their client. But the public CrowdStrike analysis is a small fraction of all publicly available analysis. ThreatConnect, Secureworks, FireEye, Fidelis and others have gone well beyond the info included in the CrowdStrike reports. But obviously none of these firms have anything near the capability of the NSA. And they all conclude the same thing.

By their client... Who prevented the FBI from reviewing their server. Seems legit.
Fact remains that all those other firms can only go on what Crowdstrike says it found.

Not true. You might be surprised how much information about this is in the public domain. Some have reviewed Crowdstrike's work but others have their done their own work. Multiple firms have been tracking these two APTs for many years. They have been attributed to the Russians well before the DNC intrusions.

I think a lot of people just don't care.
They see an article on one of these garbage sites and they run with it. Damn anything else, they read that article and that's that.

I guess we'll have to figure out some novel way to convince them that Russia and Wikileaks collectively don't have the best interest of the American people at heart.

He actually did back away from the original point I was making, so I'll give him some credit on that. It took forever, but at least it happened.

I've had to deal with the government often in recent years. I'm solid if we're using a whiteboard.
