At the moment, I work for NRCS (USDA). Management and Strategy. I deal mainly with personnel issues.

The first thing Musk did when he bought Twitter, was to get rid of all the deadwood. Him and Trump are bringing the private sector mindset to the federal bureaucracy. It's not a coincidence that the vast majority of career bureaucrats, vote Dem and that the Dems are blessed with the support of government worker's unions.
At the end of the day, the unmitigated truth is this. Dems support federal government growth. Conservatives want smaller government and less bureaucracy. One bloats and spends and never can seem to satisfy their hunger, the other is all about personal liberty and self-reliance.
Please note that I did not use the term "Republican".

Of all the federal agencies, I will say that USDA seems to be one of the more competent in my experience. With that said, there is also a ton of waste, fraud, and abuse of the subsidy programs that needs to be cut.

In a perfect world, we could get back to a federal government run mostly by competent people like yourself. It seems that over the past 10-15 years many government hires have not been based on merit but on diversity considerations.
