Why is there a fake story about Danny Trejo meeting Zelenskyy?

Social media was trending with claims actor Danny Trejo refused a bribe offer for a handshake photo op with the Ukrainian Pres. Zelenskyy. Lots of celebs have been seen doing this, so it’s an easily believable story.
Except it never happened. The actor & his people deny any such talk even took place. The story gave a fake name of Danny’s agent. No such person is connected with him in any way.
Who benefits here?

David Roth-Lindberg @RothLindberg · Nov 30 Embedded video Hollywood stars got paid to shake Zelensky's hand. Actor Danny Trejo was offered $100,000 to visit Kiev and shake the hand of Ukr’s president. However, there was one catch: he’d receive $150,000, of which he'd give Andrey Yermak, the head of Zelensky’s office, $50,000 in cash. "The video cites “the actor’s manager Ryan Davis” as the source of the story. Trejo has no such representative and never has, per his actual representation." LINK Original source of video: LINK

Know nothing about this but i assume the dem party fleeces celebs and if they don’t donate or voice support hit pieces are then released to try and affect them

Seems it was the Russians.
Weird.
Political journalist Brian Krassenstein was among those questioning the veracity of the video this morning.
"This is a FAKE video being shared by mainly Russian-affiliated accounts, pretending to be from MSNBC," Krassenstein wrote. He said that he confirmed the portions of the video attributed to MSNBC were not, in fact, from MSNBC. The video also weirdly uses the "MSNBC" chyron on video clips of Harvey Levin from the TMZ on TV show. Problem is, TMZ on TV does not air on MSNBC.
Among the Russian-affiliated social media accounts trumpeting the video was that of Dmitry Polyanskiy, First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, who wrote: "Corruption in Ukraine? what corruption?" He followed it with emojis of the "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" monkeys. He then cited a source, the link for which takes one to an obscure Telegram page in Russian with the video embedded.

How they pulled Trejo's name out of the hat to use as their fake news story is anyone's guess.
