Why is Pelosi soft peddling impeachment? Simple, Pelosi doesn't want to lose her job.

She knows actually removing the president from office without a smoking gun Russia deal is gonna be damn near impossible. And as always there is no there, there. So when the thing fails Trump wins and gets a major boost and the house is gone with her leadership.
They have gotten about all the false mileage they can get out of the Russian scare thing, it was always no more than a talking point that they did a hell of a job with but anyone with an ounce of reason could see it was over the top fiction. Weaker than barroom B.S. And now that they have gotten the only benefit they were ever gonna get, a S.C. investigation to disrupt the president and help gaining control of the house it is time to move on to 2020 and next house elections before the worm turns.

An impeachment would bring light upon the democratic congress and their briefings on the dossier from the likes of John Brennan and Harry Reid before December of 2016. Way too much liability there.

Nancy is good at raising money from very wealthy people. Those same wealthy people are finally starting to wake up to what a screw job China has been putting on us the last two decades.

I believe the strategy is not wanting to give the impression they are usurping the electoral process. Investigations will time out with the 2020 election and i guess the thinking is that the voters will have their chance to correct the mistake, without the process of impeachment.
