All Alario cares about is keeping the Governor happy no matter what political party he's from. Alario was a sycophant for Bobby Jindal and now he's a sycophant for JBE. He's a sycophant for the Governor no matter who it is because he gets to wet his beak at the legislative trough and get more pork and plush benefits. Running the statehouse is a lifestyle to him and the only way he's coming out of it is in a pine box.
Nailed it. He really is the worst.

Alario is a democrat at heart. But he's a power broker who will sell out for the next dollar. That the GOP has accepted him might be the single biggest failing of the LA GOP. Ever.
Funny thing is, by killing it, he might be making it worse for the Gov. The Gov could have vetoed it saying, hey, the state should not be telling local governments when and how and why they need to call elections. It actually might have been the best conservative, power to local governments thing he has ever done.
I'm a small government conservative. I hate the monumnents coming down, and I think the NOLA politicians who supported it need to pay a price politically for it. But I don't support the state forcing this issue.

Good to see that the Monuments-to-Leaders-of-the-Lost-Cause butthurt continues to flow.
