Why don’t we have hearings for president?

We have them for cabinet nominees, nominees to the Judiciary, etc. Presidential candidates should have to sit through three days of grueling testimony with the only difference being the people continue to vote for them, not a panel.

That's supposed to be the point of debates. Doesn't always work out that way I know, but that's the idea.
