Is that actually happening?

No, but a 2nd term President could tax everyone at 100% with no oversight if not for Congress. What you arguing for is a single elected dictator with no checks or balances.

I'm not at all advocating for spending to be held in one hand, like a President.

Less trolling and more a statement of what I think is actually going on today. Congress plays zero role in holding checks on spending.

So why are they needed at all?

Money is limitless - literally. Check these out...

Looky how easy it was to run up those lines the last two years. In fact, so easy, why even bother measuring it?

There's a whole entire useless apparatus defining, charting, reporting and "authorizing" the amounts represented in those charts.

Do away with that whole structure and just write the checks.

Don't think it's limitless? Look at those lines and tell me where it should, could, needs to, stop?

How can you not read that what I'm arguing is EVERYONE gets to spend. Not one guy (interesting y'all keep coming up with more Nazier and Nazier examples), but EVERY guy (and gal and whatever it identifies with that day).

ETA: you have to break out of the construct of our current civil structure - stop trying to shift spending decisions with in the system... think outside of the system.
