While on the topic, why do we have over 800 military bases all around the world? Are those 80-90 countries ok with this? Doubt it…

Pete needs to be beat down by President DJT for making a dumb arse confusing statement. SMDH.
The war secretary later offered an “Important clarification” on X.
“The U.S. military has a long-standing partnership w/ Qatar, including today’s announced cooperation w/ F-15QA aircraft,” Hegseth wrote. “However, to be clear, Qatar will not have their own base in the United States — nor anything like a base.”

So let me get this straight...
Pete Hegseth announced that Qatar will be constructing an Air Force facility at a U.S. base in Idaho. A non-NATO foreign government is set to establish a military presence within the United States? Da frick?
Less than two weeks ago, Senator Ted Cruz raised concerns about Qatar allegedly funding Antifa. This development follows previous criticisms of Qatar; notably, former President Trump referred to Qatar as a "terrorist supporter" eight years ago, despite later receiving a $400 million jet from the nation.
In what universe is this not a political payback and consistent with the principles of America First?

“I didn’t vote for the Islamification of my country. If the GOP is going to allow Muslims to have military bases on US soil when they know these Qataris are funding HAMAS and the Muslim Brotherhood, then voting in 2026 is a waste of time,” Loomer seethed.
“What the hell is going on? Why are we trying to train more Muslims how to fly planes on US soil? Didn’t we already learn our lesson?” Loomer wrote in a separate post, in apparent reference to the attacks on 9/11.
“Why are we encouraging more Islamic infiltration of our country by the funders of HAMAS and the Muslim Brotherhood? This is very bad for our national security.”

Two threads on this very subject.
one more time,
we have had foreign military training in this country for 50 years.
Singapore alone has multiple locations, they "own" facilities on AFB around the country.
This isn't something new and scary.

One more time. Big difference. It's Qatar.
Qatar has faced accusations of supporting Hamas, which is labeled a terrorist organization by the U.S. and several Western nations. However, Qatar denies providing political support to Hamas, stating that its involvement is limited to facilitating dialogue between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority. Additionally, allegations of past connections with or sheltering of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM)—the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks—and other extremist figures have continued to draw scrutiny and create diplomatic tensions.
Given the past optics with Qatar, it's minimally a bad look for the US right now. Thus, the reason MAGA Patriots are speaking out.

In 2011, U.S. President Barack Obama personally requested that Qatar, one of the U.S.'s most important Arab allies, provide a base for the Hamas leadership. At the time, the U.S. were seeking to establish communications with Hamas and believed that a Hamas office in Qatar would be easier to access than a Hamas bureau in Iran.
