It's like they think they are playing some big game of Risk, but the reality of it is those are real bodies being obliterated not little red plastic pieces.

There are conflicts all over the world, and have always been going on. Our main goal should be to promote de-escalation, but without getting directly involved with other country's matters. They are complicated enough as it is, and our citizens are not intelligent enough to understand these conflicts, beyond some headline or a CNN snippet.

Our involvement only further complicates these situations and ultimately puts our financial system under immense pressure and leads to the risk of our young men having to be shipped overseas to die. They never explain who all of this benefits and why we should care?

The US is an empire. Leaders made the conscious decision after the end of the Cold War to become the global hegemon and to exert our influence on all areas of the planet at once. The average American wants nothing to do with this, so they tell you we need all those military bases and proxy wars to "preserve our freedom" or to "save democracy."
