Too many people in California reached their "caring" capacity and just don't give a phuck about California anymore.

California demographics are frightening for its future.

Their schools, despite the cost are some of the worst performing with half of the state's kids functionally illiterate.

Stayed at a B&B in Fish Camp Ca. It was 100 yds from federal lands at the South Gate of Yosemite. It was neither over crowded or trashed.

The owner was talking about retiring and selling after 24 years. Her plan was to move to Flagstaff which was at a near elevation but t much more affordable. I stayed away from politics but she seemed unhappy but resigned to move after selling.

Don’t know if living there would have matched my dreams but it was an idyllic spot. Packing up the family might have been a problem.

You can keep San Francisco.

That's been the case since the first census in 1790.

I dont think native americans were counted? and slaves only counted three fifths of a person.

The poster is referring to the huge issue illegals have become regarding congessional seats, federal funds allocation, etc. Thats why Trump wanted them identified in the census, and why dems had a fit calling it.....raaccciiissstttt.

I read an article about the stats on those fleeing. It was quite scary, something akin to half a million that were making over 250,000 in household income, replaced by millions of illegals.

The only thing not making their state budget of 73 billion in the hole worse is the gerry rigging they are doing with retirement funds and the huge tranches of federal cash from covid and build back better/something/nothing.

According to the LA Times it's because they ran out of room lol. I kid you not.

Apparently, "journalism" is just outright lying.

It's too expensive and over-taxed. The only people who can afford to live in CA or the very rich and the homeless.

I feel like I am the only conservative who speaks up when stuff like this is said but I have many middle class friends in coastal Orange County and they all live just fine. They pay more for it but they live good lives, all things considered. Their kids go to great schools, the weather is perfect, crime is almost non-existent with no homeless epidemic, it's clean, roads are perfect, less traffic issues than Baton Rouge, they live in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Almost all of my friends there are very conservative. Coastal Orange County is one of the best places in this country to live and raise a family... but it definitely costs more than Louisiana or Arkansas to do it. For sure. A lot of bigger cities around the country are not all that much cheaper than desired places in California. Agreed, it would be nice if the politics coming out of L.A. and San Francisco--then brought to Sacramento--were better and taxes were lower. But New Orleans is equally as crazy as anywhere in California (hell, crazier) and Democrats, JBE etc. all espouse the same type of policies as they do in California, even enacting some. There are plenty of great places to live in California away from liberal crazies if you want though, the Orange County beach cities being at the top of the list. The entire state is not SF and LA.
