Would love to hear how you think net neutrality would have changed anything about this week.

yeah. if people think Apple/Google/Amazon taking down parler is bad, wait til AT&T throttles it to the point it is unusable for anyone that uses them as an ISP

You'd know .3 seconds faster that Twitter banned you?

Yeah, I don’t think net neutrality would have addressed the bannings or the hosting issue.

Hosting issue probably. They’re literally just doing it because Twitter asked them to dump a competitor.

Right? It's not like our government is itching to stop what is happening. Net neutrality would have arguably made it worse.

It really doesn't matter at the end of the day. We're going to have big corps and government collude to screw us other either way.

This doesn't mean what you think it means.

It’s just funny because we had snarky threads for months saying how nothing happens yet.

Now hosting services are dehosting competitors “because”, so expect some throwback.

Net neutrality would have just given these same powers to the government. So instead of being able to find a sympathetic host and platform to use, the government would just block it or shut it down once it gained any following. At least for now we can host somewhere else than AWS and join Gab.

I would say what tech is doing is possibly criminal anti-trust, and even as high as treason. (we'll see)

Everyone appears to be following the script.

It’s definitely antitrust. Too bad there’s not legislation that says you can’t throttle or dehost competitor services

That’s already antitrust violations

You want that power in the hands of a government that is sympathetic to the cause of the companies that are doing the dehosting. How dense can you be?

You do realize that in that same legislation it gave the government the power to dehost if you violated their rules... Which would be written by the same people that wrote Twitter and Facebook's rules.

You keep demonstrating how little you understand what net neutrality would have done.

It has nothing to do with what “net neutrality” was supposed to address. You may as well blame your last service interruption on the absence of net neutrality; it would make just as much sense.
