Liberals have literally been doing this for decades. Leftwing groups—like the SPLC, Greenpeace, and the ACLU—routinely sued under democrat presidents and the DOJ entered into sweetheart settlements with them. Interestingly, you weren’t outraged or even bothered over those settlements.
