What I find hilarious is the ubiquitous support for such concepts from White Soccer Moms
I used to wonder how back in ancient times people could have sacrificed their children. How could they possibly sacrifice their own children? I figured it out, they did it for social points and the equivalent of ancient Facebook "likes"

Yes, sadly I think you may be on to something.
I hate to say it , but I think we see a degree of this with inner-city Moms winning the "ghetto lottery" when their poor, innocent children are killed in the commission of a crime and the city opens the checkbook to assist in their grieveing.
