Right or wrong, look at what boards/organizations Cassidy is involved in, all medical.

I think this is right. I was a student of his at LSU medical school and I suspect he still strongly identifies as a physician.

It’s not a tough spot. His constituents overwhelmingly support the president, therefore he should confirm the nominations. He needs to listen to his constituents, it’s not all about him.

Then he needs to quit and go back to practicing medicine.

Many have the god complex, but there are a lot of doctors who want to provide the best care possible to patients. Those MD’s constantly question what constitutes the standard of care forced unto them by medical associations and boards.

He needs to listen to his constituents and act in their interests and putting RFK Jr. in charge of US vaccine policy is not acting in their interests. That's why it's a tough spot.

Those boards and organizations are just as captured as any agency under the HHS.

Can’t wait to see them all down Flemmings having a pharmaceutical rep dinner later.

He’s predetermining that in the committee. Thats the problem.

Rand, who was trained at Duke, disagrees with Cassidy on Vaccine policy.

I don't know Rand, but I do know Bill (just a little, though). The OP is about what's motivating him.

All these guys can make beaucoups bucks for whatever interest they want. I think his financial interests would be better served being a yes man.

Because he's bought and sold by Eli Lilly, Phizer, and Johnson&Johnson.

I think he knows he isn't going to be re-elected and this is the big check right here. He's about to get paid. And it's on the backs of every American paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars for scripts.

It's one of the most vile and sickening things about the United States Congress and it's truly a shame.

A fellow senator with an MD, who disagrees with cassidy on the very policy he’s hung up on.

Cassidy is trying to project this:
“I really want to pass RFK through the committee, but I just can’t because I’m a doctor. He will harm very impressionable adults with his questions”

But it doesn’t work because you have fellow md’s on the committee calling out his sanctimonious bullshite.

He might be, but he does believe in the public health benefits of hepatitis vaccination. He was talking to us about that in NOLA 10 years before he had a political career.

Industry capture is the norm, not the exception, in DC.

Cassidy has done NOTHING while in politics, period.

He's probably the worst senator we've ever put in congress out of LA.
