of any voter being fined or imprisoned for sending in a late mail-in ballot, while voting in person?

I'm guessing that the party that wants to cheat will convince their voters that there is no chance of getting anything more than a hand-slap (IF CAUGHT). The excuse would be "I heard that there was a lot of fraud going on with people throwing out my mail-in ballot, so I wanted to make sure my vote got counted...so, I decided to go to the polling center and vote in-person.

Somebody tell me I'm crazy to think this will likely happen....in droves!!

I believe Trump has already come out and said for voters to do mail-in and then show up at the polls to vote again to make sure their vote was counted

If you are not sure that your mail in made it, you should be able to go in person and put in a provisional.

The system should be able to kick out the provisional if the mail in made it.

If the system cannot do this simple thing, then we ought not be doing mail in voting until it can.

it just seems to me that a well designed system should be able to do this

If it is able to do that, it should be able to throw both votes out and spit out the name and address of the person would tried to votd twice. Police could just take busses around and pick-up all the frauds at their houses.

It's reasonable to say that we shouldn't do mail in until this capability is in place.

And, I believe that technology is at a state where this is doable.
