Decent and objective summary of the issues related to the Biden/Ukraine/Trump (“BUT”) Brouhaha from the Washington Examiner:
quote:

The new controversy about President Trump’s conduct toward the government of Ukraine is not really hard to understand, but it does involve multiple sub-issues. Here, then, in the interests of clarity, is a basic outline of the situation.

Sub-issue 1: Did Hunter Biden, son of the former vice president, engage in corruption while on the board of Burisma, an energy exploration company long operating in Ukraine; and did then-vice president Joe Biden improperly intervene to quash a Ukrainian government investigation of his son’s actions?

Sub-issue 2: Did Trump withhold military aid to Ukraine, duly approved by U.S. law in pursuit of American security interests, as a way to pressure Ukraine to re-open its investigation into the Bidens?

Sub-issue 3: Should Congress have access to the report of the Intelligence Community’s inspector general that portrayed information provided by a whistleblower, apparently pertaining to Trump’s actions with regard to Ukraine, as both “urgent” and “credible?”
The article provides additional discussion of each sub-issue.

EDIT. I find it interesting that this crowd is downvoting the Washington Examiner, apparently because the article is not adequately pro-Trump.

4. Did the whistleblower actually hear a promise being made, or is the filed report based on rumor?

No "sub-issue" on Joe Biden extorting the Ukraine government?

Cliffs notes are shite.

Did you bother to read before responding?

I was looking for a non-partisan summary, and (surprisingly, given the source) this seems to be a good one.

Whistleblower didn’t have direct knowledge of said communications.

State department asking Trump admin to intervene is the most interesting aspect of this. If Solomon’s reporting turns out to be correct. Which I believe since he provided detailed sources and links to suggest so.

5. Did Biden extort Ukraine?
6. Did Ukraine aid Hillary and the DNC against Trump in 2016?
7. Who leaked the whistleblower allegation to the DNC/MSM Political Complex?
8. How big will be the bang when this blows up in the DNC/MSM Political Complex’s faces, as usual?

In summary:

Somebody thought they had something.

They passed it on to others of their stripe who seized it and ran with it.

The upshot? It was a hot potato that none of them wanted to handle. But in their haste and desperation to get OrangeMan, they never got the word.

Now they’ve opened a can of worms, re: Biden instead.

It’s straight-up Wile E. Coyote stuff. They never learn.

5. Clearly included in “1.”
6. Valid question. Added as “1.5.”
7. Valid question. Added as “3.5”
8. Partisan hyperbole.

To me it’s oretty obvious at this point why trump wants Biden. Since he’s got to DC he’s privy to some information about Biden Re: Ukraine and China. And there will be a steady drop of info more on those subjects if Biden is the nominee.

Dems don’t care because Biden is there only perceived chance of winning back the presidency.

Biden certainly has a lot of questions to answer about Ukraine and China. I suspect campaign mode 2020 trump will expose both to the public more.

No it isn't

"Improperly Intervine"?

He extorted a foreign government with US tax dollars. He should be brought up on racketeering charges.

Stop sugar coating this shite.

Joe Biden has bragged about what he did. If Trump did this everyone would be on his arse non-stop.

Then perhaps it's the OP.

1 Biden issue

2 Trump issues

Starting to get the picture?

I have no idea what you are babbling about. The OP was simply a quote from the article in the Examiner.

In Joe's own words. Starts at 1:18
