The War is over. I think Southerners relive this and obsess about the Civil War way too much. The Civil War is not as obsessed about in the North because the North won, but also because it is viewed as history and because I think the North wanted to and still wants to bring the country together more and Northerners don't see themselves as Northerners like Southerners see themselves as Southerners if you catch my drift.

Many of you need to live in other parts of the country to get a more grounded view of the Civil War and need to realize the rest of the country doesn't obsess about it as much. Northerners don't daydream about what if and don't talk about what if the South had won and was secession right and so on.

Northerners believe more in America than Southerners do despite the hyper-patrioitism of the South. Northerners don't imagine what if they realize we are one country and that's it!

We believe more in America than Southerners do.

Not a traitor.

Considering the invasive shitshow that is our current government, was a hero.

There's no sense of northern nationalism. That feeling still lingers in the south though.

Both sections faced the same problem, they held opposing views on a number of issues - issues that seemed irreconcilable. I suppose we chose different paths. Where the south simply wanted to be left alone (and still does) the north sought (and seeks) to impose its views nationwide.

We come from different cultural traditions I suppose.

Yes, "left alone" to enslave millions of human beings and to codify white supremacy. Some "cultural tradition" you got there.
