Voter competency in the past was used to suppress voting (Jim Crow) but properly administered it would increase that odds that choices in leaders are being made by citizens with a basic understanding of how the American system works.

This system would be graded by computer and would be race blind, sex blind, creed bline and age blind. Cheating could be controlled by question randomization of questions. Answers would be multiple choice and true false.

The questions used could be designed around the same type used for becoming a citizen.

This system would be required to register to vote.

I'm betting that it would vastly improve the quality of our representatives.

It would never get enacted due to the constant lawsuits.

Simply asking one question would exclude many. For example:

What is a PARSNIP?
a. A person who cheats at golf.
b. A type of scissor.
c. A vegetable.

About 30% of the voters would flunk.

It avoids the constitutional prohibitions. Completely color blind, etc.
