and defend their classrooms against school shooters
Rep. Tim Jimenez is sponsoring House Bill 119 to fund programs to train teachers to defend their classrooms
The bill received final legislative approval last week when the Republican-controlled House voted to send it to the governor's desk
Gov Spencer Cox supports arming and training school staff so they can 'respond very quickly if the worst does happen'

um - nope - hard no on that one.
only people armed should be unknown, trained, and responsible people with outstanding public standing and an appreciable work record.
period

I get the idea, but this is going to get ugly the first time a teacher has to fire their gun and misses. Or worse yet, a student somehow gets hold of it.

Fingerprint-activated Fire arms will solve that.

School teachers are having to buy their own supplies but suddenly the state government finds money in the budget for that? Yeah, that'll go over well.

Pre-emptive argument responses from same topic / different state thread:
quote:
handgun defense training
Should be taught in the schools to the kids and staff (using training dummy pistols - Karens can opt out their kids)
quote:
psychological evaluation
Should be part of the hiring process, may fix some of the other issues we are seeing in schools re grooming and indoctrination

a group of teenagers could easily ambush a teacher and take the gun. Then what?
Posted on 3/14/24 at 9:33 am to 4cubbies
A group of like-minded teenagers can get a gun from one of their parents or thugs in their neighborhoods and bring it to school.
Or just start randomly stabbing people with pencils.
The problem is not guns, it’s people.

Do you really think a gun in the same community as a school is just as dangerous as a gun in a classroom? Get real.

Is this supposed to make some sort of point that addresses the question I posed? Or are you a grown adult who chooses to spend your time trolling a political discussion board without actually contributing to discussions?
I posed a valid question that you aren't able to formulate a relevant response to. Insulting strangers on the internet is not something a well-adjusted adult does. Grow up and read a book.

I wouldnt trust teachers with firearms. Hell no.
I imagine red flag laws would get a large percentage.

I'm sure they exist, but I've never seen or encountered a teacher who wants to carry a gun to work.

Pretty much made the point... your "idea" / "fantasy" is what is wrong with this country today... The fact that people like you even exist is plainly pathetic...

I contributed, just because it hurt your feelings only serves as bonus points...

Formulate a relevant response? Honestly, you think coming up with one of the most off the wall scenarios that you can think of is even relevant?
I can only imagine how someone like you manages to live with so much fear in their life... Go ahead and off yourself, the world will not miss you...
