Aw, come on, Poli is where you can let some four letter words fly! I don't disagree with your strategy, though. Don't click until you're done with the lawn, workout, and threads about Rome. Then click.
I even read the Economist for years, because I wanted a different perspective. I could see through the obvious stuff, but you need to know the opposition's arguments in order to refute them or strengthen your own argument. I think they lost the plot somewhere after Trump's first win, and I think it was about how shutting down Dutch farms to meet carbon goals was somehow a net positive.
Being seconded to Benelux was a wake up call. The English versions of everything sitting at the HQ of the EU were... Disappointing. Western Europe is gone.
