My phrase was meant to convey that Christianity teaches about telling the truth, such as in a court setting where justice requires truthfulness.
Much of which is subjective.

But to your point, all world views maintain certain presuppositions that are taken on faith, even yours.
I don't take a worldview on faith. I also don't claim that the words of a book give me special authority to dictate my views to others.

quote:Experience is subjective. Truth is not. Testimony that is not based on truth is unreliable, which is why witnesses are required to take an oath of truthfulness, so that their testimony can be useful to the matter being judged.

ETA:
My worldview gives me a basis to judge good from bad and right from wrong. I assume you are an atheist. If so, you have no objective standard to judge right from wrong and thus you cannot rationally judge my beliefs as wrong.

When it's based on a subjective book or subjective ideas, it is. Tap dancing doesn't change that.

You can guarantee anything you like. I don't allow faith to shape my views.

To me it's not at all groundbreaking that she was the first Muslim female judge. I would bet solid money that those characteristics are what set her apart from her competition for that spot.
Groundbreaking is different. Nobody, nobody these days is failing to make it in the law because they are a minority.
Come at me.

Claims are either true or they are false.
Sure, but they aren't always verifiable, making them subjective.

You're bouncing all over the place, trying to make this work.

Because someone died. Was it really necessary for me to tell you this or are you just a cold person?
People die every day.
Acknowledging that fact doesn't make one any colder of a person than the next.

I'm bot bouncing anywhere.
Truth is objective. A truth claim is either true or it isn't. It can't be both at the same time and in the same sense as some people like to say. The Bible makes truth claims that are either objectively true or objectively false and Christianity is based on those truth claims found in the Bible. If the claims were subjective, they could be true and not true at the same time depending on point of view. Since the claims are either true or not, the claims themselves have to have an objective judgement.
Like I said, interpretation and experience are subjective, but truth is objective.
