Incorrect, by definition they are not refugees they are economic migrants and do not have the RIGHT to file for asylum, we may CHOSE to let them do so if we wish.
From your very own link,

Demonstrates that they were persecuted or fear persecution due to race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group
Is not firmly resettled in another country
Is admissible to the United States

Every year people come to the United States seeking protection because they have suffered persecution or fear that they will suffer persecution due to:

Welfare system is no where near as luxurious... Oh and they get paid in dollars here, after they steal a SSN or two and they ship that shite back to their family down south that they left behind...
No reckon why they would leave family behind if it was that bad where they came from?
This is why they need to all be kept in a camp somewhere. The hearings take place there and hopefully every single one of them is deported. They are not seeking asylum. They want a job to make money to send back home to the rest of their family. If they are locked up (together as a family unit) they cant get a job.
Give them no ebt or welfare at all. Feed them cafeteria style and sleep in tents until the hearing. They should be taken directly from the courtroom to a plane, train or bus to send them back home.
Doing that is the only way to make these invaders stop coming here. As long as there is hope they can get in they will come.

We must or else...? What?
You know, the usual, they'll send a strongly worded letter and have some resolution passed stating that the orange man is bad.

International officials with the United Nations (UN) Refugee Agency say President Trump must allow a caravan of Central Americans into the United States to seek asylum
The asylum seekers were offered assylum in Mexico and most, rejected it. Why is America under any obligations to accept people that have already rejected asylum from another country?

We should call for a UN vote on whether the US should have to accept the “migrants,” then disperse the “migrants” to those countries that vote yes.
