Is Ukraine independence worth the price of young Americans' blood?
A fair question, to be sure.
Let's assume the answer is no.
In that case, what does the USA do in response to Russian tanks rolling into Latvia, a NATO member nation?

How is he wrong?
You ready to go fight for Ukraine.
You ready for your government to sacrifice you for a country of people who can't be troubled to defend their own borders?
Didn't think so.
Bunch of bitching bettys in this thread who want it both ways.

What if Russian tanks roll into Latvia in response to the ethnic Russians in Latvia calling for Russian protection?
Latvia is a NATO member.
Latvia is a NATO member.

No, why?
My father was a veteran of the Korean war and warned me of the folly of intervening in foreign conflicts.
That, and I just don't agree with the liberal ideology that we are somehow the world's protector of Liberty and defender of Justice. Our forefather also warned us of entangling alliances and foreign wars.

We signed the NATO treaty and under our Constitution treaties carry the weight of law. We would be legally bound to honor our commitment to Latvia.
That said, I was dismayed when we expanded NATO. I've proposed we exit NATO since the USSR fell.

Latvia is a NATO member.
Then it's war.
You do understand the key difference between the two countries correct?

I don't know man. Had we not intervened in Korea I might not have my nice 50" Samsung TV.

What dumbasses like you don't understand is this:
Putin is quite simply put, a bully.
A bully is a bully, whether in the schoolyard, or on the international stage. The difference is just a matter of scale. The mentality is the same, the principle is the same.
Once you let that bully take your lunch money, he's not going to just stop. He's only going to get bolder. He's going to keep taking your lunch money, until you stop him. Or at least project a reasonable threat to stop him.
I realize that you're pretty simple, but even you should be able to grasp THAT concept.
Putin is only going to get bolder, because he knows that there's nobody out there with credible resolve to stop him.
Munich taught us that same hard lesson 76 years ago. Unfortunately, there are all too many dumbasses like you out there, who because you never learned your history, may be dooming all of us to repeat it.

The key difference is that Ukraine is not a NATO member, but, Latvia is.
Other then that, I'm not a mind-reader, so, I don't know what you're talking about.

Earlier, Mr Putin told Russia's parliament that Crimea had "always been part of Russia" and in signing the treaty he was righting a "historical injustice".
Holy Hitler batman.
Holy Hitler batman.

That is the key difference and the reason why we don't give a rat's arse about Ukraine.

And it was sound advice. Then.
The problem is, we never listened to it. And the world became more complex
Ukraine? I don't give a shite about Ukraine.
My worries start when he starts eyeing Latvia. Estonia. Poland. Germany. These are countries we're obligated by treaty to stand by. And since Putin sees we have no resolve to stop him, he's going to feel way less inhibited about moving on any or all of them.
And THAT is when shite starts to get real.

This is where your logic fails. He's not taking our lunch money, he's not even threatening to take our lunch money.
But when people want to break down complex international relations to the level of a school yard, you can't expect them to be rational in their responses.

Yeah, that if France and England had acted when the Germans re-militarized the Rhineland, they could've stopped Hitler in his tracks without any help from us.
So perhaps if Germany rebuilt he Bundeswehr back to Cold war levels, Putin might just shut up and sit down.
