Again, I am not denying they helped Giuliani in Ukraine
But I am not sure what was illegal about it?

I mean, I've also been told they just wanted their pot license to start up a head shop as well, so yeah

I'm not saying anything was illegal about their help. But when you get help from guys under indictment for trying to illegally buy influence for Ukrainian govt officials in 2018, it tends to kinda make you question how reliable their help is in 2019, no?

Again, you are confusing the house of reps with law enforcement
The house of reps is pursuing impeachment and they want everyone available to testify
Law enforcement is after LAW BREAKERS.
You keep on saying that they were arrested because they will “flip”, flip about what? What do you think they did with guiliani that was illegal?

Guiliani was misled big time in Ukraine by people with sinister motives, no doubt
But being a gullible Facebook Grandpa isn’t illegal.

Which hack committee?
Well that hack committee was able to pinpoint two dudes with a wealth of information, at the very least. I mean, Guiliani obviously relied on them. Too bad Trump's appointees had to arrest them before they could give it up.

You're missing the point of these arrests. It was never about campaign violations.
I think I understand the point you are attempting to make without just saying it.
This is not about the FEC violations, this about the optics that it draws a connection to the peach mint inquiry, no?
Couple of points that should be clarified
1. According to sauces, Sessions raised the issue of Yovanovitch in the meeting, not Parnas and Fruman:
quote:
Sessions told BuzzFeed in July that he raised Yovanovitch in the meeting, not Parnas and Fruman. "I sought their input," he said. Other Republicans were aware of Sessions' effort.
2. Sessions efforts to have Yovanovitch removed were fairly well known and documented:
quote:
"Based on what I know about the Ukrainian ambassador's removal, based on comments that my colleague Pete Sessions alleged that she made, if you are making negative comments about the President of the United States, you deserved to be removed," [Mark] Meadows said.
"And one of my colleagues who I trusted told me that personally, and also I've seen a letter to that effect. We've got no place in diplomacy for personal opinions for our official work," Meadows added.
"Any ambassador serves at the pleasure of the president, and yet this particular individual has had a number of allegations and I would stress allegations made and that's why I look forward to talking with her."
CNN
3. The alleged schemes and illegal donations were concealed from the candidates and the committees [see cajunangelle's post, pg. 4 this thread].
4. The donation to the Trump Super-PAC (meaning uncoordinated with Trump or the campaign) was filed in July 2018 and the funds placed in a segregated account until the matter was resolved:
quote:
According to FEC records, GEP contributed $325,000 in May 2018 to pro-Trump super PAC America First Action. In a statement, a spokesperson for America First Action noted that a complaint was filed with the FEC in July 2018 over this contribution, as well as separate litigation in Florida. The statement said that the money was placed "in a segregated bank account," was not used, and "will remain in this segregated account until these matters are resolved."
FoxNews
4. Sessions was defeated in the 2018 elections.

I said before that this could easily involve legit bipartisan crimes, but you guys jump to conspiracy before even digesting basic information.
A big part of the Dem playbook relies on using Republicans ethics against them. Which is why Session's recused himself when he shouldn't have, and Mueller and Schiff had/ have no intention of recusing themselves when they absolutely should. Read Atlas Shrugged, it goes into this very well.
That said, this could just as easily be a Barr deal for other reasons.
But either way, it was not about campaign violations.

But what specifically is happening here? This is Berman and Barr. Very different. No recusals. You have to fill in some details.

Not saying any of that. Go back to my original point, that these dudes arrests and the peach mint issues are unrelated except for the fact that Rudy worked with these guys as part of his efforts to investigate Ukraine's role in the 2016 election.

I don't know what happened here, which I thought was clear when I made the counterpoint that this could be a 100% Barr operation for other reasons.
The Sessions/ Schiff/ Mueller recusal is a general point, not in reference to the arrests. The point being Dems use Republican's duty to uphold the rule of law against them, and that could've happened here, which explains why the parties being "Trump supporters" isn't very telling one way or the other.

So you think it's merely coincidental that the indictment came down today? I'm not saying you're wrong. Just curious.

Actually, what is shows is that Trump's Justice Department takes campaign finance violations, even if committed by republican donors, very seriously. The even, but firm, hand of the law is applied under Trump!

Well yeah, people tend to use the rule of law against one another. I just don't think that's a democrat thing any more than it is an effective strategy used by everyone.

It could be.
Nothing in the indictment specifically relates to 2019 biden/Ukraine or guiliani efforts.
Supposedly they were a flight risk which is why the arrest happened today.

I don't know, but what I do know is that the dims think they got a huge double meat burger with this when it very well may a really yuuuge unconnected nothing burder.
And Yovanovitch is set to be interviewed by Schifty Schitts tomorrow who is going to have his staff pulling an all nighter prepping for her interview with this news.
False Flag?
