I was today years old when I learned you can watch movies on Twitter

My suspicion is twitter algorithms are triggered after a threshold view # if the ratio of complaints vs views is disproportionately high. However, if that is the model, twitter should also have mechanisms to dissuade activists from manipulating the platform.
Twitter bans Unplanned, abortion movie.
Twitter took down the account for Unplanned and later did reinstate it
Meanwhile, production costs for "Unplanned" are estimated at $6 million. Box office has recouped only half of that. This is a made-for-streaming services movie, but it has underperformed in theaters.

right next to God's Not Dead

The wide and I saw it yesterday. Powerful film. Frick Planned Parenthood. And Frick the MPAA for slapping an R rating on this.

Man up, by going to see a movie? This d-level schlock is trying to compare itself to The Passion of the Christ. Calm down drama queen.

Nobody is scared of a Pureflix film that grossed 3 million dollars. These movies are a dime a dozen and quickly find their way to The bargain bin of a Dollar General right next to God's Not Dead, War Room, and Kirk Cameron Saves Christmas.
I admire a sarcastic well written polemic as much as the next guy. I particularly liked "Kirk Cameron Saves Christmas".
His, or her, main point was that no one feared the movie. I retorted with a link to an article that suggested otherwise. Their clever prose dismissed the film based on its quality, presumably without having seen it. I simply suggested he, or she, ought to do so before offering a clever snarky review of the film. I suggest this to you as well.
I haven't heard Unplanned compared to Passion or any other major Hollywood or independent productions. That said, it is a better, less over the top film than the usual "Christian" film.

The odds of that boy being destitute are massively greater than him being successful given his start in life. Sure there is a very small chance he will beat the odds and become a contributor to society but is that fair to the vast majority of boys who will not beat the odds? Thats akin to making 1,000 children walk across the Sahara Desert with only 3 of them surviving to the other side. Are those 1,000 kids suppose to be grateful for the opportunity no matter how small the chance of success?
Are you by chance related to this woman?

Ever thought that maybe you should’ve been aborted? You and the likes of ebbandblow and any other pro abortion liberal. You know, to be examples and all of abortion and the “good” it provides.........
You low life, scum of the earth, piles of shite.
I'm not a liberal nor am I pro abortion.
This "you should have been aborted" comeback has been used to death on this board and is about as unoriginal as it gets.
But I understand that you need to make this unoriginal backhanded remark in order to appease yourself. You had no other choice.

From Abby Johnson
“We are pushing the boundaries of what has never been before on such a wide scale by showing America exactly what abortion is — and abortion is disturbing. It’s violent,” the 38-year-old said.
“In my opinion, one of the most impactful films of our time is ‘The Passion of the Christ.’ It was rated R. So I feel like ‘Unplanned’ is in good company.
Terry Schilling of The Federalist
“Unplanned” in the same category as “Schindlers List,” “Saving Private Ryan” and “Passion of the Christ” in “terms of the emotional wallop it packs.”
This film is below the production level of a bad CW series. A quick Google search shows the entire film is as "true story" as any other Hollywood film, which is to say it's exaggerated and full of shite.

i would bet my house they still shadow ban it, they are scared of how bad it exposes their lies and will not allow this movie to be seen if they can help it.

I noticed it currently has a rating of 50% from critics on RT
That’s actually rather shocking.
That’s about 47% higher than I would expect for an anti-abortion movie.

I stand corrected. A comparison of Unplanned to films of great artistic merit and universal acclaim is overblown. I also believe the comparisons you quote are more limited in their scope than a one on one fight for an Oscar.
My reading of the Abby Johnson quote is that, shrugging off the decision to rate Unplanned with an R, she compares the R ratings of each film and Unplanned's potential impact with Passion's, not technically comparing their relative artistic merits or overall quality. That may be a difference without a distinction and she's sailing close to the wind.
This is absolutely true in one sense, but in another she's wrong not giving any props or recognition to Gosnell.
Schilling is clearly making comparisons to blockbusters but seems to restrict his enthusiasm to the film's "emotional wallop". A small point, but not holding up Unplanned against Schindler as Oscar worthy.
Your comments are far more interesting than your quotes however.
A person familiar through viewing Unplanned and CW series can legitimately make that claim. I'm assuming then that you have seen Unplanned to make your comment.
Given that this film has been blackballed in the network media advertising arena and given Google's propensity to censor things they believe are hateful and bad, are you seriously going to Google your way to your opinion of this film without seeing it? Seriously.
Respecting "true story", "exaggerated", and "full of shite", plenty of films take artistic license to either edit down a topic for time and clarity or, amalgamate related, relevant, incidents to create a simplified narrative to fit a film's limited time of roughly two hours.
The physician in the film performing the controversial scene is a physician with some thousand or so abortions under his belt. He has assured us in interviews that the film in no way exaggerates.
Just go see the film and make up your own mind and don't rely on The Daily Beast to tell you a film's good or bad. They have a pro-abortion bias. Free your mind and your arse will follow.

The doctor in the scene is real-life Dr. Anthony Levatino, who says he has performed about 1,200 abortions over the years. "The portrayal of a live, moving fetus disappearing is very accurate," Levatino said. "You're watching an abortion. It's an accurate view of what's happening. It's disturbing if you recognize it's a human life."
