The Senate is currently comprised of 50 Republicans, 47 Democrats, and 3 Independents who caucus with the Dems. Why are the Democrats considered the majority when there are actually only 47 Democrats in the Senate? If there were 25 Dems, 25 Independents, and 50 Republicans, would the Dems still be considered as the majority? Why does it matter with whom the Independents caucus? They are not officially Democrats.

They vote dem. Their “independent” label is bullshite.

Because they caucus with the dems, in reality they ARE dems. Thus 50/50.

If you ask a question like this on TD, the members will treat you like shite for asking a question on a message board instead of “googling” it - which by the way they talk shite and despise google because it’s big tech.
It’s damn if you do, damn if you don’t while asking questions on this once fine website

because they vote on who leads them. those independents vote dem, so that is who leads and is considered as the majority

You got plenty of reasonable responses in that thread.
