that the cops knew was just a throw of the dice since they were under pressure and had no one else at the time to pin it on. A well thought of black couple were murdered at church of all places by a white man who came in, asked for the pastor (one of the victims) shot him then his wife when she tried to help her husband. The only evidence were the shooter's eyeglasses.

Under enormous pressure police charged a guy whose ex-wife claimed he did it to scare her while she was with her new BF. The members of the church couldn't say if he was or was not the guy in a lineup. That's it. He got life without parole. AJC, under pressure from innocence group assigned a reporter who found the glasses and a mit. DNA test that was done on two hairs caught in the glasses. He matched them and it came back they belonged not to the guy in prison but a guy who had also claimed he did it. So there you go. Cops had nothing but under pressure framed a guy who was working in Birmingham at the time and would have had to fly to get to Brunswick in time to do it since his time card showed he was at work and didn't leave. And worse the prosecutors went along with it to clear a case they were under tremendous pressure on.

We have had a policing problem for a very long time. My grandfather was a 5th district cop in Nola and the stories he told me were shocking. They took a lot a liberty in prejudging a criminal. He knew of 3 men who were in jail for crimes they did not commit, but he never said anything. He was threatened by the union with losing his pension several times after he retired when he tried to speak with someone in the DA's office. Poor man had to take it to his grave.

It was the Atlanta Journal's feature story Sunday, May 24. 10 days ago. They even did a special section of the paper on it. Look it up if you know how. Name of the Article is "An Imperfect alibi" Look it up. In fact google "An imperfect alibi and Dennis Perry who is the innocent man. The GBI just took the case over from the infamous Brunswick AG, Jackie Johnson.

Sorry. Look it up under the AJC special section of the Sunday, May 24th article: The imperfect alibi. Dennis Perry is the guy's name. Another co-incidence is the GBI just took this over from Brunswick AG Jackie Johnson as well as the Jogger case.

if you're interested, it's the subject of Breakdown, an AJC-sponsored podcast, Season 8, titled "The Imperfect Alibi"
