where they force, you the reader, to read between the lines to get the real truth.

Coming from a bunch of people who wake up every day foaming at the mouth to intentionally take every single statement Trump makes out of context, when there’s always plenty of context around to make it rather clear. Classic.

average reader was not careful, they would have missed the word 'almost' and would go around telling people, "Oh my god! We lost dozens of Americans!"

This is another prime example of why you truly cannot trust the media! They try to distort the truth to appease their base of followers.

Reminds me, years ago, I was listing to NPR on the car radio. Something about how people in high places risk their careers with lies. They mention about six Republicans and say something like "widely considered" to have LIED about xyz, or "often though to have" LIED about xyz, "may have been" LYING about xyz, etc. All in dramatic tones.

I'm thinking OK, no Democrats in your examples? Then they say "Oh, it's not exclusive to one side of the aisle, Hillary Clinton has not always been thought to be so forthcoming with the TRUTH (chuckle chuckle)".

Geez, Republicans something-something LIE, but Hilary something-something TRUTH.

No, I don't believe those things are co-incidence. But they may be so brainwashed that they phrase things this way w/o even thinking about it. Bias is part of their DNA.

I’d imagine almost all of these types of operations are a count hair away from failure. That’s why it’s so important to have the best trained guys doing it

Ya know, we ought to start using their propaganda tool as a running joke.
I'll go first:
> US Grant almost lost Gettysburg and soldiers died. We should just surrender now!
Yes, it's that bad!

How about:
> Patton almost lost the Battle of the Bulge and soldiers died. We have to surrender to Japan and Hilter now!
