I have a bold proposal. I am going to mostly wait and see what they DO and who they actually ARE rather than nitpicking about something they may have SAID or who they MIGHT BE, mostly because I do not trust the media to be any more truthful NOW about what is going on than they have PROVEN to be in the immediate past.
This is just like the way the liberal press bitches about Supreme Court choices. If there is a record find a few quotes to take out of context or that represent positions that have changed. If there is no record bitch about a perceived "lack of experience". That is how we got Souter for the Supreme Court, likely the absolutely worst Justice in the last 50 years in terms of doing what his appointer was elected to select. Nobody tops Earl Warren in that regard though.
