He kicked arse on this front in his first term as well.

I do wish he had the foresight to not name it TrumpRX because it will make it easier for the dems to get rid of it when they take power and blame the name.

My wife used it for IVF meds! Previously we were paying 4x as much!

Many presidents give lip service to “lowering drug costs”… President Trump made it happen! And it’s not talked about enough.

Not to mention his previous price mandated on life saving drugs for American citizens… that the media completely ignored and Biden admin removed, then re-enacted and took credit for with help from their media buddies.

Anything for TDS for the losers?

They are too busy scouring the internet looking for negatives. They’ll be back shortly to express why it’s racist, how much Trump is making off of this, and Trump is using this to distract from Epstein.

GOP opposed this when Biden proposed essentially the same thing. In fact the Biden admin was going to be LESS ambitious than Trump has been, but the GOP tried to rip his head off regarding free markets, innovation, free choice, etc.

Quote -

Congressional Republicans have strongly opposed the drug price negotiation provisions in President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), often describing them as government-mandated price controls, "prescription drug socialism," or "price fixing" that "threatens innovation".

Here is a breakdown of the GOP position and actions regarding the Biden administration's drug pricing policies:

Core Objections: Republicans argue that allowing Medicare to negotiate prices will reduce pharmaceutical industry investment in new cures, lead to fewer choices for patients, and increase costs for other, non-negotiated drugs.

"Price Fixing" Allegations: Top GOP leadership, including House Speaker Mike Johnson and Conference Chair Elise Stefanik, have slammed the policy as "disastrous," claiming it hurts the American health care system and puts the US pharmaceutical industry at a competitive disadvantage.
Legislative Repeal Attempts: Republicans have consistently eyed the repeal of the IRA’s drug pricing provisions. Three GOP senators introduced a bill in October 2023 to repeal these provisions.

"Mafia-Style" Criticisms: Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-Va.) characterized the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) negotiations as a "'Godfather,' mafia-style negotiation" where drugmakers are forced to accept government offers or lose access to Medicare and Medicaid.

Alternative Proposals: Rather than government negotiation, Republicans generally advocate for market-based approaches to lower costs, such as increasing transparency, addressing pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) practices, and accelerating generic drug approvals.

Focus on Small Molecule Drugs: Some Republicans and industry advocates have criticized the "pill penalty" in the IRA, which allows small-molecule drugs to be selected for negotiation 9 years after approval, arguing this discourages the development of pills compared to other treatments.

Despite this, public polling has shown significant support for negotiations, even among Republican voters.
