Last thing we need is a bunch of F-1s coming in and making it even harder for native college students to get into medical schools when there is already an insane shortage of physicians here. F-1s have absolutely no business being able to apply to professional programs at public universities when they aren’t even citizens of this country.
90% of them will go into medicine, dentistry, or science-related PhD programs. They’ll simply drive the applicant rates up and make those fields even more competitive to get into.

How exactly do you intend to populate the missing one million Engineers every year that our Universities don’t graduate? There is a choice, Asian or Indian.

The number fluctuating signals that it may be being used as a bargaining tool for economic negotiations then.
I don’t like it, but my message said, “further away from some concessions” when I mentioned the number going down and so this COULD be a sign that larger concessions from China are being made hence the number going up.
I have no way of knowing if this is true, just laying out what I see.
