This is Ed Orgeron Esque stategy and it would behoove the prez to hire the best people, even if they may show a willingness to go against you occasionally

Can’t hire yes men and expect top notch work
quote:

The president recalled how he first hired Cohen as his fixer more than a decade ago while in business, saying Cohen got on his radar by doing a “favor” for him on the condominium committee for Trump World Tower in Manhattan. He said Cohen was "a very big supporter of mine on that committee" and "I thought he was a great guy."

The president, considering everything that has happened recently, said he regretted hiring him. "In retrospect, I made a mistake," he said.

“I hire usually good people,” Trump added

Trump's big on loyalty. If you treat him well, he remembers.

When you cross him, he remembers.

This is why he hired Sessions as AG. Sessions was the first establishment member to kiss his arse.

That doesn't seem to be the case with his administration - even though he promised, "Only the best, folks, only the best."

Hire better bag men.

BTW, it looks like it was Trump in that meeting with Cohen and Pecker to discuss having AMI catch and kill negative stories for the campaign:

quote:

Donald Trump was the third person in the room in August 2015 when his lawyer Michael Cohen and National Enquirer publisher David Pecker discussed ways Pecker could help counter negative stories about Trump's relationships with women, NBC News has confirmed. As part of a nonprosecution agreement disclosed Wednesday by federal prosecutors, American Media Inc., the Enquirer's parent company, admitted that "Pecker offered to help deal with negative stories about that presidential candidate's relationships with women by, among other things, assisting the campaign in identifying such stories so they could be purchased and their publication avoided."

Trump was in the room during hush money discussions with tabloid publisher

Getting harder and harder to say these weren't unreported campaign expenses...
