Why not the Shooter's victims families slick?

It's already been stated that he is going to Corey's funeral.

I get it, these people probably hate him, but there isn't a better opportunity to show the world how wrong they are about you than to visit the shooters parents. Maybe they would never agree to it, but it's worth pursuing imo. It would help them remove some of the shame from their family name and show the world the compassion Trump has. It will probably never happen but it's an interesting idea.

I can hear him now

“ God bless you folks ok, your son was a weak fig, and of course a murderer, and also shot my ear off , and I’ve seen some weak figs, some with guns, I’m from New York, but he was a weak fig, Bigly, but you folks are good people not weak figs and I’m sorry about your weak fig dead son who shot my ear and let me tell you that’s quite a China cabinet ”…

Can I get a link to anything official-ish about Trump attending the fire captain's funeral? I have a person that is insisting on a link and I don't want to send that person here, for obvious reasons.

His son (Eric I believe) said it on TV.

It's also in this tweet.

Invite them to the convention and have them sit in his box like it’s the State of the Union

I think its a bad idea (to visit shooters parents and forgive shooter).

In his position as future POTUS, he will have to be tough on crime and set a high standard. You forgive the shooter and this would be bad optics for some later decisions he’ll need to make as POTUS.

I can see the merits posted here, but mainly due to his position he just can’t. Later when some radical kills someone else the leftist press will ask if he forgave them and if not they’ll just use it against him.

So many potential pitfalls. It might sound like a good thing to do now but over next 4 years it won’t. Plus you will never please the radical leftists.

After he competes his second term he can do it, if he wants.

I hope that's not what the message will be. I don't want unity with these people.

That sounds like a strategic approach that could certainly shake things up. Showing kindness and unity can indeed have a powerful impact on changing perceptions.

Agreed. They didn't do anything and they're hurting. They need healing and if Trump showed up, the entire media's head would collectively explode.

Exactly. He could use this to combat bullying, address the loneliness epidemic, and reach across the isle
